Wall Lake, IA - King for Congress released the following statement and memorandum from WPA Intelligence showing King has a strong 18 point lead over his opponent.
“Iowa voters are overwhelmingly choosing to stick with Congressman Steve King’s proven leadership and they are rejecting his opponent’s nasty, desperate, and dishonest attacks funded by San Francisco liberals.”
The following memorandum, prepared on behalf of Steve King for Congress, details key findings from a survey conducted by WPA Intelligence among likely general election voters in Iowa’s Fourth Congressional District. Interviews were collected from October 22-24, 2018 among n=401 likely voters. The margin of error is ±4.9%.
Congressman King Leads with 18-Point Advantage and Majority of the Ballot Share
Incumbent Congressman Steve King has a commanding, 18-point lead in the race to represent Iowa’s Fourth Congressional District. Fifty-two percent (52%) of likely general election voters support King on the ballot. Democrat challenger J.D. Scholten trails King, receiving thirty-four percent (34%) of the ballot share. Eleven percent (11%) are undecided while roughly three percent (3%) report they would support a third-party candidate.
WPA Intelligence conducted a study of likely voters in Iowa’s 4th Congressional District.
WPAi selected a random sample of registered voters from the Iowa voter file using Proportional Probability Sampling (PPS). The sample for this survey was stratified based on geography, party, age, and gender. This methodology allows us to avoid post-survey “weighting” which can reduce the reliability of survey results.
Respondents were contacted by phone via a live telephone operator interview from October 22-24, 2018. The study has a sample size of n=401 likely general election voters with a margin of error of ±4.9% in 95 out of 100 cases.
