King: Obama’s Economy Is Not “Fine” In Iowa’s 4th District

Congressman King (R-Kiron) today issued the following statement regarding President Obama’s comments that “the private sector is doing fine:”

“As President Obama last week was telling Americans ‘the private sector is doing fine,’ 23 million Americans continued to look for work under his failed policies and full-throated assault on free enterprise. The disastrous Obama economy is not ‘fine’ in Iowa’s 4th Congressional District.

“The failed policies of President Obama – policies which Christie Vilsack wants to advance in Washington – are stifling economic development and burdening small businesses up and down 4th District Iowa main streets. Those businesses, Mr. President, are not doing fine. ObamaCare, burdensome regulations and a lack of predictability and stability from the Obama Administration have stifled those businesses’ growth.

“As a self-made small businessman, I know America would be best served by President Romney – a President who has spent most of his professional career in the private sector. Mitt Romney understands President Obama has failed to live up to his promises and the private sector is stagnant. President Romney will remove the burdens the Obama Administration has placed on businesses and allow them to start hiring again.”
